Under 14 (14-U) & Older Age Groups

The Under 14 (14-U) age group consists of players who are under the age of 14 years old (but older than eleven years old) as of January 1st of the Fall Soccer Season (Note: These players will be in the 14-U Age Group for both the Fall then Spring Seasons).  The 14-U teams are co-ed.

14-U teams practice twice a week (either Monday/ Wednesday or Tuesday/ Thursday) and play games on Friday Evening and/or Saturday.

Practice time and day will be determined by the coach and is subject to field availability.  These practices usually last between 1 hour to an hour and a half and are the best way for teams to learn to work together and improve upon their skills.

All coaches in AYSO are volunteers (as are referees and anyone else involved) and coaches schedule their practices at a convenient time for their schedule. It is always helpful to have a team parent or assistant coach step up from the parents to help out with things on the team.

Games are played in a 9 vs. 9 format.  All standard FIFA laws of the game are enforced at the U-14 age group. 35 min halves 17 1/2 min quarters
Your child must wear the following equipment:
  • AYSO uniform( to games only - practices may be attended in any athletic clothing)
  • Shin guards (available anywhere sporting goods are sold)
  • Socks large enough to cover the shin guards (soccer socks are preferable as they are purposely oversized)
  • Size 5 soccer ball (community balls are usually NOT available so it is recommended you bring your own ball to be safe)
The following are not required but recommended:
  • Soccer shoes or cleats
  • Water or other drink (community water is usually not provided and is not available at the fields)
